Science

Our Science curriculum aims to prepare our children for life in an increasingly scientific and technological world. We encourage pupils to explore the world around them and raise their own questions then plan and carry out investigations using equipment correctly.

Science is a practical subject with many activities requiring children to work together. It encourages the development of investigation, experimentation skills and interpretation of results. There are many cross curricular links with other subjects, particularly Design Technology, Geography and Mathematics. We help children understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.

Children develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines:

Physical Processes (Physics) Life Processes and Living things (Biology) Materials and their Properties (Chemistry)

These are taught in each year group through topics.
