Guiseley Primary School

Welcome to our website

Our ethos statement:

At Guiseley Primary School our community lives by the values of our Rainbow Code. We believe that every family matters. Our mission as a school is to provide an inclusive, nurturing and challenging environment that will enrich our children’s learning, not only for their continuing education, but also provide a foundation of solid values which will guide them throughout life.

What makes our school special?

At Guiseley Primary School we want to include everyone, which is why we’ve used a rainbow as our symbol. 'Every colour under the sun’ being brought together to make something truly amazing represents our ethos perfectly. The rainbow that sits at the centre of our school badge reflects how these core values are at the heart of everything we do.

R - respect (for all)
A - achieve (always do your very best)
I - inclusion (we all matter)
N - nurture (we care and are considerate)
B - belong (it's good to be part of something)
O - outstanding (effort and perseverance)
W - whole (whole child, whole family, whole community)

We are dedicated to continually improving teaching and learning whilst understanding the importance of safeguarding our children's personal, social and emotional well-being.

We have high expectations for all groups of children and provide challenging learning within an exciting and broad curriculum.  We believe that children can make progress without limits whatever their starting points and ensure that every child is provided with the opportunity to succeed.   Children are encouraged to learn from mistakes and in this way they develop resilience as well as excellent attitude and learning behaviours.

We have a strong ethos of nurturing children's social and emotional development through all aspects of school life.  There is a culture of inclusion and children of all abilities learn alongside each other, offering support and encouragement.  Children are taught to be kind and respectful to others and we are proud of the behaviour they display throughout school.

The curriculum is designed to be creative, interesting and inspiring.  It is regularly reviewed to ensure it continues to meet the needs of all learners and is enriched with regular visits and visitors.  We are keen that children have the opportunity to develop skills in music and art alongside the more academic aspects of the curriculum.  All members of the school community are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and involvement in sport and physical activity is encouraged.

Above all we care for your children and the whole family. We want every child that passes through our doors in the morning to have fun and be happy, whilst developing a deep and long-lasting love of learning.

If you would like to find out more please don't hesitate to contact the school office and book an appointment to come for a visit.
