Safeguarding
Guiseley Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, which can be viewed on our Policies page.
In our Ofsted Inspection (June 2023) our safeguarding was found to be effective.

Keeping Children Safe - Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility
What does the law say schools must do? The Department for Education's key document is called 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. It is a statutory requirement that all staff working in school adhere to the guidance set out in this document.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
Guiseley Primary School is committed to ensuring that safeguarding is the school's highest priority.

All of our staff and governors have undertaken recent statutory and non-statutory safeguarding training. We expect all staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors to share this commitment and conduct robust checks to ensure they have.

The Prevent Duty is a requirement for schools to follow to keep pupils safe from being influenced by dangerous ideas, ensuring that school is safeguarding pupils from extremist ideologies and radicalisation. It acts like a protective shield, focusing on early help and supporting children who might be vulnerable to negative influences. For more information on the Prevent Duty
